Follow Pauline - Episode5 - Biarritz

After 4 months on the road, Pauline finally came back home for a few days of rest. She receives her team mate Bethany Hamilton (HAW) who came for a 6* WQS event in Seignosse. Pauline took the chance to introduce her region to Bethany before going on with another contest in Portugal and then flying to Mentawaiis with the Rip Curl Girl International Team.

She’s back only 10 days before the start of the competition in Biarritz during which she accommodates her friend Jessi Myley Dyer.
During those 10 days, Pauline goes back to her routine: physical trainings with her private coach and free sessions in La Côte des Basques where she frequently sees her good friend Lee-Ann Curren who will compete as a wildcard in the event. She’s also supported by Patrick Flores (French Team Head Coach) and Gilles Darqué (her Team Manager).
This support won’t be too much to help her dealing with the stress on one of the most important competition in Pauline’s young career. With a good result, her requalification on the WT may be secured for next season. Pauline’s currently 9th at the ASP ranking and only 10 girls will keep their spot on the tour.

Pauline’s well surrounded and it works! She surfs every heat with the highest concentration. And if you add the presence of her family and friends on the beach you get the best result of her career with a qualification to the semi-finals. But nobody can stop Carissa Moore this year and Pauline is beaten by the new ASP Women World Champion. Carissa makes it through the final (again) and Pauline gets to be part of her crowning ceremony with this amazing 3rd place, everyone’s happy!
Next and last step: Huntington from 1st to 6th of August
